An intriguing combination of contrasting single casks of different malt whisky distilleries vatted together and married by Douglas Laing in a special harmony.
Introduced initially as a Macallan & Laphroaig bottling from selected single casks of each, they have continued the process with selected single casks from different distilleries. That has been an intriguing and distinctly fun process, whereby they sampled and approved different casks then married/vatted them with different distillery Malts. That process has developed to a point where there are also Ardbeg & Glen Rothes, Bowmore & Highland Park and Caol Ila & Braeval fusions, coming together in harmony in a special way in those new and unique products. Whether you call this a vatted Malt or a blend of Malts – Douglas Laing brought together in each of these DOUBLE BARREL selections some truly individual and unique character of nose, palate and finish, all left unchill filtered at 46% alc vol.
